IPP Sonnedix secured a €260 million green loan for renewable energy projects in Italy, including two PV plants totaling 200MW capacity. Sonnedix recently started its largest European solar project in Portugal and inked a 10-year PPA with Equinix. The Italian solar market is active, with Lightsource bp selling a 294MWp portfolio, and Westbridge Renewables entering with 62MW of solar PV. Italy saw record-breaking solar PV electricity generation in 2023 and targets 4GW of additional solar power.
